Mixed Rice Sushi

Last weekend I bought the Japanese daikon pickles from Medi-ya. Since I have many other vegetables in the fridge, I decided to try using mixed rice to make some sushi!

I used mixed red rice, quinoa, buckwheat and Japanese short grains.

Here are my many colours mixed rice sushi... yum..yum...

My Miso Ramen

I came across the frozen Ramen at the local supermarket and decided to hands-on my very first home cook Ramen.

I cooked mine with the instant dashi stock with miso as the base soup. As for the ingredients added; they were based on memory of my last ramen which I had at the Japanese restaurant, which was long time ago.

Add a little Japanese seven spices powder to make it 'Hot'!

Okonomiyaki

I stumbled into two very nice blogs which teaches how to make Okonomiyaki (aka Japanese Pizza), as I was searching for it!

The ingredients of my Okonomiyaki were a simple version as there were no meat nor seafood. I tried two versions; one is the simple Okonomiyaki with only cabbage and oyster mushrooms and other version was with added Kimchi. The methods of how to prepare my Okonomiyaki were adopted from here and here.

Verdict: Husband and I loves the Kimchi added version. ^^

I don't have any bonito flakes which was recommended as the topping! Nevertheless, it's still very delicious!

Mixed Mushrooms Rice

Mushrooms are my favorite! I love to try all sorts of mushrooms that are available in the supermarkets.

I searched through the website to look for the right recipe to cook mushrooms rice. In the end, I decided to try with my own method of cooking it with some existing Japanese ingredients which are left in the kitchen cabinets.

The verdict of my own 'trial and error' mushroom rice.... husband had two huge plate of the rice.

Sushi Sandwiches

I have decided to simplify my blog posting and will not post the recipe of my cooking other than baking. Therefore this blog will be purely my personal journal with collections of photographs of what I prepared in my kitchen.

This afternoon, I made these sushi for husband! A very lazy way of preparing lunch!

Noodles

As I was feeling rather warm at home I decided to make chilled soba noodles with nori, for dinner today.

These are some of the noodles which are readily for cooking in the kitchen cabinets. I love the packet of somen in the middle, as it can be used for soup, stir-fry and even cold dishes; such as salad and cold noodles.
